SALT & HEELS GIRLS
Pjerino - how it started
We’re Iva and Boba. City girls who spent every summer on the Dalmatian coast — salt on our skin by nine, jumping off rocks by ten, not coming home until the sun went down.
Our grandmothers made sure we sat through evening prayer and dinner. We did. But after, we snuck out the window and went to the beach. Night swimming, dancing, singing.
We grew up. City jobs, city lives. But every summer we came back; same coast, same rocks, same sea. The feeling never changed. What we wore to it - that was the problem.
We wanted less clothes, no ironing, cool enough for the beach and everything after — Nothing fit
When we looked at what was out there, nothing fit. The hyper-sexualised styles are great — if you don’t mind spending the whole day pulling and adjusting instead of actually living in them. The cute prints work — if you never leave the pool. And basics are always safe.
But we didn’t climb out that window to be safe.
So we made what we actually wanted to wear. We both windsurf and paddleboard — so we needed pieces that actually work in the water, not just next to it. We designed sets in the same print — so you can mix and match depending on the day. A swimsuit for the beach. Leggings and a rashguard for the scooter ride down to the water or a morning on the board. A cropped jacket when the wind picks up.
